IPL FAQ’S

IPL uses pulses of broad-spectrum light energy to penetrate the skin and selectively target pigment and blood vessels. This process helps break down discoloration and redness while stimulating collagen production to improve skin tone and texture.

Side effects are typically mild and may include temporary redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation. Pigmented areas may darken initially before naturally flaking off within several days.

Results are cumulative and improve with a series of treatments. With proper sun protection and skincare, results can last for months to years.

Before Your IPL Treatment:

  1. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
  2. Discontinue retinoids, exfoliating products, and active skincare ingredients several days before your appointment.
  3. Avoid self-tanners on the treatment area.
  4. Inform your provider of any medical conditions, medications, or recent skin treatments.
  5. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen.
